Happy New Year Everyone Much has transpired since the last update.
Corey Hayder, our Vice President resigned because he left the area for a job in Minnesota. On behalf of the board I want to thank Corey for all his hard work and the contributions he made to the board. His engineering background made him a tremendous asset to the board and he will be missed. We wish him well in his new job.
We purchased the property at 5100 Copper Hill Ridge and are in the process of getting it platted and subdivided into 2 lots. We will build a second water storage reservoir on the back side of the property at a date to be determined and we have a first right of refusal to purchase the remaining property with the house at the appraised value once the lot is sub-divided.
I was informed of a "bug tree" that appeared to be on CLWC property near high place. After checking it was determined that the tree was on Chapel Lane Homes Association. I enlisted the service of the City Parks Department Forester and we surveyed the entire ridge East of Chapel Lane which included CLWC property and Chapel Lane Homes Associaton Property. No bug trees were found on CLWC property and only 1 more was found on Chapel Lane Homes Associaton Property but that tree had so few hits it required no further action. As I am a member of the Chapel Lane Homes Association I cut down the affected tree on their property and chunked it at the present time I am arranging for the disposal of the chunks. Earlier this month we found 2 bug trees on the property at 5100 Copper Hill Ridge, we are currently getting bids to remove both trees in compliance with the city program which will reimburse us up to 75% of our costs.
Water Usage continues to be at an all time low. It looks like we have found our leaks but we will continue to closely monitor production and if it shows anything out of the ordinary we will once again bring in South Dakota Rural Water Association leak detection specialists to check our system.
At the present time we have no timetable for the construction of the water storage reservoir on the Copper Hill Ridge property. We will hold disucssions on this project at our Annual Meeting February 16, 2012 at the Canyon Lake Senior Citizen Center.
